Millis had a great day today at the MSTCA D4 State Coaches Relay Meet in Bellingham. Millis girls had a total of 11 relay teams including both running and field events. The lady Mohawks ran hard and brought home a lot of hardware, placing in six events, and 4th overall in the meet with a total of 38 points! Let's take a closer look at the results:
4x200M (Katie Malewicz, Morgan Kane, Sara Schildwachter, Ciara Moynihan), placed 3rd overall, not only setting a new personal best of 1:51.20, but also crushing their previous school record that they already broke in the winter! They were able to add six points to the overall team score.
The Sprint Medley Relay (Jess O'Reilly, Katie Malewicz, Morgan Kane, Parousia Cruz), placed 5th overall, adding two points to the team's overall score.
The Distance Medley Relay (Lucy Clayton, Parousia Cruz, Hannah MacDonald, Jess O'Reilly), placed 1st overall with incredible performances by all, adding ten points to the overall team score!
The Discus Relay (Theresa Cerullo, Jacquie Mullally, Catherine Lane) placed 5th overall with a combined throw of 212-02, adding two points to the team's overall score.
The Javelin Relay (Theresa Cerullo, Sarah Wenzel, Jacquie Mullally), placed 1st overall with a combined throw of 269-10. Theresa Cerullo had a throw of 33.26 which might be enough to take her to Nationals!
4x400 (Katie Malewicz, Julia Krauss, Parousia Cruz, Ciara Moynihan) placed 2nd overall. This team was seeded in the 2nd fastest heat and won their heat with a time of 4:15.29. The 1st place team (Norton) ran in a separate heat and had a time 4:15.26, beating the Millis girls by a hair! Millis girls broke the school record!
Another noteworthy performance includes the 4x100 team who set a new school record of 54.12. Coach Conner and Coach Schildwachter are extremely proud of the team and their performances from today's meet!
